“I thought the girls played really hard, all the way to the buzzer. We outplayed Jonesboro, but in the end, the missed shots and missed rebounds just added up against us,” said JV sophomore  Jessica Mitchell.

DSCF0547 Both teams are high in their rankings in the state. The girls rank 14th while the boys rank 62.

Each team has tried their hardest this season and the work is paying off in the conference rankings.

“The goal is to finish conference season strong and have a good showing in the state tournament,” said Turney.

Varsity boys are 5-8 in the overall season and 2-3 in conference.

The varsity girls, however, have a 10-4 record in the season and a 3-2 record in the conference.
