“The auditions were great; we had an awesome turnout and it took four hours to finish the process, but we had amazing turnout and honestly the choice was really hard to make,” said junior and student director Kara Treadwell.

“Freak” has a deep meaning for everyone that tried out as well for its audience.

“Freak has a really good meaning behind it saying that while suicide may be an option, its a permanent solution to a temporary problem that can be fixed very easily,” said Caleb Burley who will be playing Maniacal Max in the play.

“This play actually means a lot because I know a lot of people who have considered suicide and this play shows them that there are more options,” said Sarah Swain who will play Bella.

“This play means a lot to me because a lot of my friends in the past have wound up killing themselves over different stuff. Some of them have tried and failed so it’s important to me that  I can get this message across that way I don’t have another friend who is a victim to depression and suicide,” said Burly.

“Freak” will be presented April 1-2 in the Performing Arts Center.
