Record temperatures put students in deep freeze

Screen Shot 2014-02-26 at 2.23.50 PMTemperatures yesterday reached record-setting degrees, and many students here at school were forced to take extreme measure to withstand the cold.

“I had to put extra clothes on, and go out and start my sister’s car for her because she’s to lazy,” said freshman Keaton Douglas.

Most students tried to avoid the cold at all measures and swarmed places that were warm.

“I had to wear like three layers, and it was so cold that I had to sit in Austin Pike’s car, and we had the heat on high, ” said sophomore Tanner Werley.

Students opened the winter closet getting their coats, scarves, and hats out to face the frigid weather.

“I just had to wear extra clothes, like a jacket and gloves,” said sophomore Yohanna Cortes.

The average high temperature for Searcy in 2014 has been 63.4 degrees fahrenheit.

Although we are forced to be in these frigid conditions there are other seasons to look forward to.

“Spring because it’s not too hot, and it’s not too cold,” said Cortes.

Most students agreed they do not like the cold weather that they have been experiencing.

“I like hot weather; I don’t like the cold at all,” said Douglas.

According to Lion TV’s  weather person, Megan Bonner, temperatures should be raising by the end of the week.

The high for last year’s summer was 93.1. This past year has been freezing during the winter and hot in the summer. Some people prefer the summer over the winter, and some prefer the winter over the summer.
