Lion TV and Jumpstart this year have been part of  PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs, doing interviews and stories for a chance to be shown on PBS NewsHour. The students have interviewed state representatives and even Governor Mike Beebe. Recently, they did a story on the new teaching standards that come with Common Core and interviewed teachers on their opinions of the new rules.

The team has worked on several “Rapid Response” questions that require a quick turnaround of interviews. These have included questions about education, the new Comon Core standards and questions for the Pakistani student, Malala. The students recently completed a documentary: Made in America: jobs and factory closings in Searcy that has been submitted to AETN and PBS NewsHour for airing.
