Searcy hosts conference tennis tournament

 

Searcy hosted the 6A conference tennis tournament recently with all schools from the conference participating in the event.

The Searcy tennis team was represented well, sending a total of seven members on to the state tournament.

Junior Arielle Butler claimed the conference title in the women’s singles division, defeating a Jonesboro opponent in the finals.

In mens’ singles, Zach Villemez and Tanner Scarbrough both advanced to the state tournament, as well.

In doubles for men, seniors Joseph Davis and Justin Holtz made it to the finals of the conference tournament, good enough to earn a spot in the state tournament.

For the ladies, sophomores Morgan Stanley and Sydni Woodard also secured a spot at the next level.

Butler went on to win the state title for Women’s singles, and Stanley and Woodard placed second in women’s doubles.
