Freshman find a creative way to make money

A few of the Freshmen girls have found a unique way to spend their time and make money, by making decorative  boards they sell and these boards have become very popular here in Searcy.

Freshman Hannah Osborne  says they got the idea because her mom got a Cricut for her birthday “and we just  started doing it for fun.”

A Cricut is a crafting tool that cuits out letters and shapes. They are often used for scrapbooking.

The boards come in many different styles, they can have scriptures, cute sayings,or anything you custom order.
Osborne said they started making the boards last May and now they have expanded and sold over 200 boards.

The process of making the boards may be long, but the finished product is well worth the wait.

Freshman Delayne Smith describes the process on how to
make the boards in steps.

“First you sand the board and prime  it…you find a verse orsaying you want to put on there…then you print out the letters…and you paint over that…then  you peel the letters off and sand it,” Smith said.

If you’re interested in buying a board, then the little boards  are $15 and the big boards are $22. You can custom order on  their Facebook page “One Bright Hour” or go to the Bee’s  Knees Consignment Shop in Searcy.
