Lady Lions basketball team rebuilding this year

After the loss of many good seniors last year, the Lions are looking for young fresh talent to take over the missing spots.  The team has been working hard to prepare for the opening of the season and hope to have a successful season this year.

They practice every day in the gym doing workouts, shooting drills, and conditioning.  All in hopes that they will be mentally and physically prepared for the tough season ahead.  With Seniors Julisa Anthony, Rhea Nicholson, and Mercedes Whitney all returning the team has some valuable experience to help lead the team.

The team is hurting from the loss of three seniors last year, but also many girls have chosen to focus on other sports this year.

As a result the team only has nine total players.  With only nine players its hard to have competitive practices to prepare the starting five for the games.

Brittnee Broadway is a sophmore that did very well last year.  There are also three juniors, McKenna Smith, Erin Pace, and Allie Wilbourn, that will be starting for the Lions this year.

The girls all work very hard during practice to become a tighter team, but they also have fun together at the same time.  The team has to change its strategy from last year though because the team this year is not as big as the team was last year.

The girls have a tournament coming up at home and hope to put their hard work into action.
