Medical Pursuit

Searcy (LP) There are many professions around the world that you may pursue interest in. But if you plan to take a long journey down the medical path, there are five top medical colleges you need to consider first. But before thinking about these, Dillon Stone suggests “it’s a good idea to try out the clinical internship if you’re a Searcy senior.

It also wouldn’t be a bad idea to learn all about the medical field because there is tons to know!” The best medical college to enroll in is Harvard University. No surprise there! It opened in 1782 with only three students and has transformed with thousands of enrolled students today!

Harvard University has nine nobel prizes shared between fifteen researchers. One of the most recent was Linda Buck in 2004 for her discovery of odorant receptors and the organization of the olfactory system. Even to this day, they use the newest technology and are almost finished with publishing a tumor vaccine for leukemia patients!

The next few colleges come from across the pond in the United Kingdom! The top-notch U.K. school is the University of Oxford. They have collected sixteen nobel prizes, including the discovery of penicillin by Sir Alexander Fleming. Why would you not suggest a university that a famous medical man has attended? Other men at the university have pioneered drug therapies and identified genetic risk factors for breast cancer. Oxford holds around 18,000 medical students from anywhere and everywhere, and there are 130 nationalities represented!

To keep this medical train rolling, let’s move on to the University of Cambridge, also in the United Kingdom. The University of Cambridge maintains twenty-six nobel peace prizes, some of the most notable being mature cell research and a full three-dimensional model of the structure of a HIV RNA packaging signal. Cambridge has been around for a little over 100 years and has a massive enrollment rate, with 30,000 students enrolled today! Cambridge University is always focused on integrity, so if they promise to complete a project, it will usually be accomplished. Only some of the most intelligent people get into Cambridge University medical school, so start retaining knowledge early! Unfortunately, Cambridge denied this author’s application, saying that they were “quite frankly appalled by the inclusion of a partially live animal” in my application packet. Whatever, I don’t need them.

Anyways, fourth on the list is probably a well-known university. It is John Hopkins University. It was founded in Baltimore and was the first university in the Western Hemisphere founded on the model of the European research institution. Founded in 1893, it was opened four years after the John Hopkins Hospital, which has been ranked number one for 21 straight years! With only 19 nobel prizes, don’t be mistaken, John Hopkins University keeps its medical game at the top. Their latest research includes studies on preventing type 2 diabetes and the formation of new blood vessels from stem cells. John Hopkins University is a top-notch school that might be your future path one day! The last medical school on the list is Stanford University. Even though they only have four nobel prizes, their nobel prizes are of the utmost importance. They found a way to use something like a flashlight to highlight a tumor with a high degree of accuracy, and have also identified a new culprit for Alzheimer’s and aging! Stanford University encourages discipline, so nobody gets out of line.

They have amazing organization tactics, and their research is always well displayed! If you want to go to a fairly small college with 8,000 students or so, Stanford is the place for you! No matter where you go, Dillon Stone thinks that “you should defiantly go somewhere that has top-notch information for your medical field. I want to be a nurse because I enjoy serving patient at their worst, and some schools are better than others.” Overall, any college that will teach you medical advantages and how to further your career path are incredible, but if you want to try the best of the best, head to these five schools located in the United Kingdom and the United States.
