Summer Job

Searcy (LP) The summer is just a few days away and I know many people are planing to go on vacations. But what about the ones at home? Well if you don’t have anything planned why not get a job? Money is a good motivation to get a job. I interviewed Anna Catherine King about the summer job she is getting, she said she is super excited.

“Honestly the only reason I’m getting a summer job is so I can get money for clothes and more food.”

Another reason to get a summer job is to work on your interviewing skills for when you’re older and go in for an important job. Even if you don’t get the job, you get better skills at coping when you get rejected. Yes, sitting at home would be a lot easier and it would not be testing your limits, but testing your limits about a job and getting out of your comfort zone is something that you should get comfortable with. Summer jobs are hard to find but its definitely worth it in the long run. You may just have a part time job that doesn’t seem like it will matter in the grand scheme of things, but don’t be so quick to dismiss what you are accomplishing in showing up for work every day and being a good hand for whoever hires you. One of the toughest things teens go through is finding their selves and finding what they want to do with their lives, now I’m not saying that working at Sonic is going to be the job you will want to do for the rest of your life because college is definitely a necessity, although schools try their best to get you ready for a job, nothing can quite beat actually having one. That’s why a summer job would help in that area too.
