Searcy (LP) Searcy is the home of a new shopping center. It includes Hobby Lobby, T.J. Maxx, Ulta Beauty, Shoe Carnival, Petco, Ross Dress for Less, and Dick’s Sporting Goods. This shopping center is going to be  a new addition to the long list of department stores in Searcy.

“For these stores to be built there is a process called phase 1 and phase 2,” said Buck Layne,President of  the Chamber of Commerce. Phase 1 consists of  buildings that will be built in 10 to 12 months. Phase 1 stores are Hobby Lobby, Petco, T.J. Maxx, Shoe Carnival, and Ulta Beauty. Phase 2 will start before or after phase 1 is complete. Phase 2 stores are Ross Dress for Less and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Shoe Carnival is a family shoe store. “The new shopping center is a great addition to Searcy shopping places,” said Buck Layne.

Hobby Lobby is an art and crafts store. This store contains materials for  room decorating, jewelry making, and scrapbooking stuff. It was first built in Oklahoma City in 1972. It is  founded by David and Barbara Green in 1970. T.J. Maxx  is a department store with the famous clothing supplier. It was founded by Bernard Cammarata. The first store was in Framingham, Massachusetts in 1976. Ulta Beauty is a cosmetics store. This store contains of hair products, skin products, women and men’s fragrances. Ulta beauty was first discovered in 1990 on January 9th.Shoe Carnival is a family shoe store. It was founded by David Russell. The first store opened in Evansville, Indiana. Ross Dress for less is a low price department clothing store. It was first developed in August of 1982. Dick’s Sporting Goods is sporting goods store. This store contains of sporting equipment, clothing and shoes for athletics, and outdoor enjoyment. It was founded by Richard Stack. The first store was in Binghamton, New York in 1948.

All the sales profits of  Searcy’s new shopping center are going to be use to improve the city, such as the street lights, better roads and sanitary sewer modification.  

 I can’t wait to see the phase 1 stores  in 10 to 12 months. Then phase 2 stores after and before.
