SHS Announcements

STUDENTS:  Friday, October 7, classes will be dismissed at 1:30 with Homecoming Assembly beginning at 2:00 in the Performing Arts Center.  You are invited to attend the assembly,  however, if you choose not to attend you must leave campus immediately.  Buses will run at regular time, after the 3:05 bell.

HOMECOMING SPIRIT WEEK:

Wednesday 10/5- Wild About My Team Wednesday (Deck out for your fave team – high school, college, pro, or pee-wee!!)

Thursday 10/6- Throwback Thursday (Pick a time period from the past, and sport the fashions!)

Friday 10/7- Dress to Impress (Wear your best dressy clothes for Homecoming)

Remember, all the SHS dress code rules still apply, so no face paint or tutus; however, you DO have permission to wear HATS/CAPS in the halls as long as they’re part of a Spirit Week costume!!!!

HOMECOMING: Practice for all sweethearts and royalty will be Wednesday, Oct 5 at the field at 3:30.  Dad’s DO NOT need to attend.  The Queen’s reception will be Thursday Oct. 6 at 5:30 at the Searcy Country Club.  Practice will follow afterwards in the PAC center.  All sweethearts, royalty and their escorts for the assembly need to attend.  If you have any questions see Coach Cramblett.

SENIORS: Seniors who were absent when Mrs. Roddy spoke to the senior English classes, can pick up their Senior Packet in the Guidance Center at their convenience.

FALL FUTURE FEST: Searcy High School will host our annual Fall Future Fest on Monday, October 10.  Seniors will be called to the cafeteria at 8:30 and will stay until 2nd period.  Juniors will be called to the cafeteria at9:25 and will stay until 3rd period.

ASVAB: Searcy High School will administer the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) on November 2 in the high school cafeteria.  Interested students must sign up in the Guidance Center by October 26.  This is the military entrance exam, however, it also offers a wealth of vocational aptitude information for any interested student.

SHS EAST will be registering students to vote the week of October 3 – 7. Anyone who will be at least 18 before election day may go to the EAST classroom during lunch to register to vote. Students may also come after school to register from Wednesday, October 5 through Friday, October 7 until 3:40. Anyone who will be registering will need their driver’s license or need to know their social security number for registration.

YEARBOOK: Order your yearbook at www.jostensyearbooks.com.

SHS CAREER FAIR: SHS will host its annual Career Fair on October 10.  We will call Seniors at 8:30 and they will stay until 2nd period begins.  We will then call Juniors at about 9:25 and they will remain until the beginning of 3rd period.

SENIOR RECOGNITION ADS: Senior Recognition Ads are due for the SHS Lion Yearbook by October 20.  Ad packets are located in both high school offices.

CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS:

KEY CLUB will meet at its usual time, the first Tuesday of the month, Tuesday,  Oct. 4th at 7:35 in the cafeteria.  Please be on time as we have numerous topics to discuss.  If you want a t-shirt please drop by Mr. Snow’s room 112 to purchase one.  They are $15 and we have a limited supply. This meeting is for old and new members.
