BASEBALL TRYOUTS: Baseball Tryouts will be held Monday Nov. 28th  through Wednesday Nov. 30th from 3:30- 5:00.

PARENT-STUDENT RESPONSIBILITY FORM – SHS HANDBOOK:  If you have not turned in your Parent-Student Responsibility form, please have it signed and turn into the office ASAP.  

LIBRARY FINE: Have a library Fine? Bring in a canned food item and receive 50 cents toward your overdue library Fine.  

 2016-17 ARKANSAS ASSOCIATION OF CONSERVATION DISTRICTS “DAVE FERGUSON: SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST: Your college choice of study should be Information regarding the 2016-17 Arkansas Association of Conservation Districts “Dave Ferguson: Scholarship Contest is available in the Guidance Center. Your college choice of study should be conservation-related at an accredited Arkansas college or university. The winner will also be eligible to compete for scholarships at the area and state level contests. Essay required. Please see Mrs. Cleveland for more information.

SENIORS: if you are a child, grandchild, or great-grandchild of an American Legionnaire in good standing of two or more consecutive years membership, please see the Guidance Center for an scholarship opportunity.

ARKANSAS GOVERNOR’S SCHOOL: Juniors who are interested in attending Arkansas Governor’s School which will be held June 11-July 22, 2017 will need to come by the Guidance Office and sign up. Please check your schedules and with your parents concerning your summer plans first before proceeding with the process. Come by the Guidance Center for more information and visit the AGS website at www.hendrix.edu/ags 

BOWLING TRYOUTS: bowling tryouts will begin at 3:30 on the Tuesday Nov. 15th  at the Searcy Bowling Center. **NOTE NEW DATE

FLU CLINIC: Searcy High School and the Arkansas Department of Health will be holding a flu immunization clinic on November 14, 2016.  

ASVAB: Searcy High School will administer the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) on November 2 in the high school cafeteria. This is the military entrance exam; however, it also offers a wealth of vocational aptitude information for any interested student.   

LICENSE2HOWL SCHOLARSHIPS: Five License2HOWL Scholarships are available for the 2017-18 academic year for incoming freshmen at Arkansas State. These scholarships are $5,000 for the year and are renewable for recipients who continue to meet criteria and re-apply. The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2016. L2H scholarships are for Arkansas residents who will be full-time freshmen on the Jonesboro campus, have a minimum ACT score of 23 and a high school GPA of 3.5 or above. Interested students can stop by the Guidance Center to pick up further information.

CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS:

BETA CLUB: Please bring 10 canned goods to Mrs. Holman’s class by Friday, November 11th at 2:00pm.  You will receive 50 points.

FCCLA: FCCLA will be at Bailey’s Pizza for a fundraiser this Thursday from 4:30 to 8:30.  Stop by and see us!!!

KEY CLUB: The Key Club will host its annual blood drive on Nov. 17, 2016.  Students must be eighteen to sign-up  on their own or sixteen and seventeen year old students can sign-up with a parental permission form they need to get from Mr. Snow in Rm 112.  Sign-up sheets are in Mr. Snow’s room 112.  Students MUST clear their absence from class with their teacher before they can miss to give blood.  Please sign-up and give for this worthy cause.
