Local Church Reaches Out to the Needy

Searcy (LP) Feed my sheep is a small local church reaching out to the needy and anyone that needs warm food in their belly. Feed my sheep has been going on for over ten years by
Revival Church. These people make food from as simple as soup to lasagna. The people running the project is Matthew Smith and his lovely wife Jessica Smith. They have been attending Revival Church for twelve years. These people have been working on feed my sheep and saw the benefits of it. Matt stated “I think it’s a good outreach to the community. It allows those that want to come to church to be able to come. It allows them to bring their kids and there are people here that can tutor them. We have professional teachers here that offer their ability. It allows them to not miss church by having that here.”Jessica also stated “It’s obviously a cheap meal. That people don’t have to prepare themselves and we ask for the donation but if you don’t have the monIMG_00991ey which is sometimes the case. Then it’s just free to you and services we provide.” Seeing them hand out meals to everyone that steps in the door is really heart warming to some of the people that attend Revival Church.

Feed my sheep happens every Wednesday at six o’clock with Revival. I asked them about how they felt about feed my sheep and about the donation. When I had asked that, they replied by saying “We do not make any money off of it. All of the money go straight to feed my sheep. The money that they collect goes right into the next meal.” Jessica said about feed my sheep. The atmosphere of the place is relaxing and the conversation isn’t always necessarily about religion. Anyone is more than welcome to come to feed my sheep. Jessica also said, ” The name comes from Scripture.” The Scripture that says feed my sheep is John 21:15. The Scripture talks about how  if you love him then you will feed his people. This really is a great outreach toward the community of Searcy. We hope to see you down there whether helping or coming down to have a meal.
