Searcy (LP) The Searcy Lady Lion soccer team has always been one of the states most accomplished teams in their conference. Searcy soccer has always been one of Searcy Highs most thriving programs. While the Lady Lions have been working very hard these past years, they have been to the state finals three times out of the past four years. Back in 2012 the team took home the title of State Champions. The girls are now in the off season and are working everyday on getting in good shape and making sure their ball touches are as perfect as they can be. Working on ball skills and getting in shape in the off season are very important for the team, but Emma Kate Mackey, one of the seniors on the team says that team bonding is the most important thing they could be working on right now, being close and like a family is what will help us most accomplish the goal that we all want which is definitely be state champions. Also while working hard in the off season the team has been working out in the field house when it is too cold outside. While in the field house their usual practice starts off with running for ten minutes, doing a little cardio, getting ball touches in and then maybe a few other drills that involve passing and moving around the field. When there are afternoons with nice weather the team likes to go to the stadium and practice on the full sized field.

When they get this privilege some of the things they like to do more drills that involve dribbling more and shooting. Emma Kate also said that the team this year is very solid and she is excited to see what they can do this season. Some of the players that you should be looking forward to seeing are Alyssa Burns at forward, Emma Kate Mackey at forward, Abby Dixon at defender, Kayla Churchwell at defender and Meredith Parker at midfield. Best of luck to the players and coaches of the 2017 Lady Lion soccer team on their upcoming season.
