Searcy (LP) The Searcy FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) Team attended the District V Spring Conference last Friday, February third at the University of Central Arkansas. The team had many members who placed in their own individual competitions and will further progress to the State Competition in April. The FBLA Conference was very exciting and full of events that kept the people attending entertained. A talent show and a trivia game were held in the auditorium while the teams waited for their scores.

Mrs. Akridge, leader of the FBLA team, said, “I’m very proud of the accomplishments of my FBLA students. A little over half of the students placed and will qualify to go to the State FBLA competition.” But the competitions weren’t the only events that took place at the conference. An exciting talent show was held where competitors played music, ballet danced, and even tap danced. The talent show was very interesting and after that students competed in a FBLA trivia game. Will Faust, a junior on the FBLA team, said his favorite part of the conference was “Just having a good time with the team, and competition and talent show were pretty fun to watch and play in.”

The next step for the Searcy FBLA Team will be preparing and competing in the Arkansas State Conference in Little Rock on April second and third. After asking how the team will prepare, Mrs. Akridge replied, “The students that placed at district will continue to study for their events they competed in, and then they will compete on the state level, and hopefully we will place at the state level too.” Be sure to wish the FBLA team good luck as they prepare for their next event.
