CONGRATULATIONS to the SHS Wrestling team and our three State Champions Brad Brown, Devon King, and Caleb Freeman. Our team finished third in the 6A-7A division and was the highest ranked 6A team. Coach Jerry Evans was named Coach of the Year.

CONGRATULATIONS! The girl’s basketball team won their game last night against Jacksonville. They will have a home game Saturday at 1 against Hall.

SHS PROM CLOSET–Searcy High School Prom Closet will hold its shopping days on  Tuesday, March 7th, Thursday, March 9th, and Tuesday, March 28th.  SHS students who are attending the SHS Prom and would like to take advantage of the free service are invited to visit the Prom Closet from 3:15-5:00 P.M. on the third floor of the SHS PAC. Inventory consists of prom items for females such as dresses, shoes, purses and jewelry, and we also have a small inventory of men’s suits and ties.  Students may also sign up at this time for hair and makeup services on the day of the prom. CLINICAL APPLICATIONS: The application for Clinical Internship is now available in the Guidance Center.  11th grade students must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA to apply.  Deadline to return application materials to the Guidance Center is March 30.

SCHOLARSHIPS:

HARDING UNIVERSITY PHARMACY CAMP: Applications for Harding University’s Pharmacy Summer Camp are available in the Guidance Center. Dates for the camp are June 18-23.

 

UNITY HEALTH SCHOLARSHIP: The 2017 Unity Health Foundation $1000 Auxiliary Scholarship has been posted to the website. Please follow the instructions carefully.

 

PLAY4JARREN CELEBRATION OF LIFE SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY : We have a scholarship application for any Arkansas senior who has been affected by cancer.  Interested seniors can pick up the application in the Guidance Center.

 

UCA CLASS REGISTRATION: Current seniors who are planning to attend UCA in the upcoming fall can sign up for class registration starting now! They have two options for students: A regular advising session and Summer Orientation and Registration (SOAR).  Students can find out more information in the Guidance Center.

 

THE ARKANSAS BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIPS are now being accepted by the Department of Media at ASU-Jonesboro. The scholarship is for high school seniors who plan to major in broadcasting at A-State. The application is available in the Guidance Center.

 

FUTURE ASU-JONESBORO STUDENTS...If you are a senior majoring in journalism or have expressed an interest in broadcasting as a career, an application form is online under College of Liberal Arts & Communication, Media Department. SENIORS: Seniors…If you are attending ASU-Beebe this fall, please come by the Guidance Center for a scholarship application from Textbook Corner. You must be enrolled at the Beebe campus and attending full time to be considered. Deadline is April 29, 2017.
