Searcy High helping local businesses

Searcy (LP) The East program is working on helping small local businesses and  getting to know and acknowledge  what they do. There plan is to map all of the local businesses and turn it into a 3D map of Searcy. You will be able to see what the place looks like and what service it provides. Bailey Chapman said “Searcy has a lot of little businesses that no one knows about. Everyone knows about Walmart and Casa Brava. There are a lot of little businesses that we could be supporting. We have a story map that shows all of the little businesses in Searcy. ”

Bailey and many other East students have been working o30943703421_3d29bd89ca_o (1)n this project since the beginning of the year and have been rewarded a grant last year in May. The name of the grant is East Beyond The Bell, which gives them 8,875 dollars to get equipment and any other tools that they may need. They have been working on a story map to tell where all of the local businesses are located. Bailey also said, ” The story map is an interactive map that allows you to move through and see exactly what the business is.” The type of businesses is the Chamber of Commerce. Many wonderful things are expected to happen with the story map like local business growth. Bailey had something to say on the matter of business growth ,”I think that it’s good and it encourages the American dream of anyone can do anything.” Searcy has many local businesses in the story like Sonic, Dalco Closing and Title, Cargile Auctions, and Cintas.

Many of these local businesses are to be seen on the story map. The story map has helped and is going to impact the community by a number of things such as growth, advertisement, and bringing in travelers. “It will make people more aware of a business that needs support of our community, ” said Jake Osborne. East has been working very hard and this project could lead people into asking East for more story map helping. East hopes you stop by and enjoy local businesses in Searcy after visiting the story map .
