Shoe trends are always surfacing and resurfacing throughout generations and decades.  Parents get excited when their children want to buy Converse and Birkenstocks that they wore in their childhood and early adult lives.  The previous shoes from “older generations” remain appealing to students at Searcy High School, and other places as well.  Sophomore Gracie James, says that “I am more interested in the previous generations shoes than those of current generational fashions.  My personal favorite shoes include my Birkenstocks, and my mom always tells me that she had the exact same ones in high school.”  These shoes from the past never go out of style which is another plus to these types of shoes.

But the most recent shoe fad or trend that is quite overwhelming to all students and teachers involved at Searcy High, is the Adidas Superstar Sneakers.  The footwear also comes in different materials and colors.  Materials include cloth, rubber, and felt on the sides of the shoes.   Different colors of side stripes range from pink to purple to green to blue, and most other colors. The most popular color of these shoes is white which contain intricate lacing, black side stitching, and gold Adidas logo on the  tongue of the shoe.   The shoes begin at a price of seventy American dollars and go up to about one hundred and twenty American dollars.  Sophomore Julia Shands explains that “I wear my Superstars all the time.  They are shoes that are comfortable to walk in around school, and around town.  The footwear also matches most of my clothes which is a major plus.” The Superstars can be dressed down, or paired with more stylish looks. These shoes can be seen simply by walking through the hallways of Searcy High School looking down at student’s feet.  Watch out people, this shoe trend may funnel through your school next.
