The Yummy Part of Easter

Searcy (LP) Easter was on April 16th. Easter is one of popular holiday in America. Its origin is Pagan. Pagan is someone who worships ancient greek gods and goddess other than Christianity, Judaism, Islam and etc. The name Easter comes from the goddess Eostre. She is the goddess of spring and fertility, her symbol is a rabbit or hare. Eostre name means Passover. Passover is liberation by God from slavery in Egypt and their freedom. Easter is also known as Jesus resurrection from the dead.

When kids hunt for eggs, we all know that they do not care about the eggs. They care about what is inside the eggs.  Easter time is usually spent with your family. You eat dinner, go to church, and when you go to church they usually have a Easter egg hunt for the kids. Everyone meaning teenagers, toddlers, kids, and adults love getting something on Easter, either it is candy or a gift like jewelry.  

Easter is when candy brands change the shape, size, or color of their candy to match the Easter theme. Some of these candies are Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs, Sour Patch Bunnies, Snickers eggs, Easter Pastel M&M, Brach’s Bunny Corn, Hershey Eggs, Robin Eggs, Starburst Jellybeans, and Peeps. Many people have different types of their favorite easter candy. I went around the school and took a poll about what kind of Easter candy is your favorite. The most popular candy was Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs. “This is my favorite because Reese’s is my favorite candy of all time. During Easter time it cute how they make the shape of the candy,” says Kenzie Hart. The second most popular candy was Starburst Jellybeans. “This is my favorite because when I was little my dad and I would watch a movie, eat them, and enjoy the time together,” says Maya Jones.

Easter is a religious holiday, celebrated by people all over the world. It is a time for fun, games, and to worship your religion. For kids it a time to enjoy candy and other treats.  There are many types of candy on Easter, Which one is your favorite?
