Searcy Lady Lion Basketball Player Signs with Harding University

Searcy (LP) For Searcy High School Senior Allie Brown, basketball is her passion.  Allie has recently signed to play college basketball at Harding University in the fall.  Allie has been playing basketball since she was six years old and she has dreamed of playing for Harding since she was a young middle schooler.  Like anything in life, hard work and dedication has been a large factor for Allie’s success in basketball.  She has played for travel teams around the area and has attended different types of camps to improve her play.  This hard work did not go unnoticed seeing as she has played on the varsity team for the high school since her sophomore year.  Allie not only works hard and is fully dedicated to playing, she loves the game and everything about it.  Her mother, Danielle, has been there with her at every tournament and game to watch Allie continue to strive in all aspects of life.  Looking at Allie as a full-time student athlete, Danielle says, “Allie is the hardest worker I know and she brings her best effort on and off the court in everything she does.  She is deligent in her work and is always putting others first no matter the situation.”

Harding University is only ten minutes from Allie’s home in Searcy, and there is no doubt when the Lady Bisons are playing, she is there watching.  Allie received offers from other schools and she had other college options, but she knew Harding was her home and where she belonged.  “The homey atmosphere and good vibes from the players and coaches were a huge impact on my decision and they all made me feel so welcomed,” Allie says.  Having this feeling in her heart made the decision that much easier for Allie and she cannot wait for the experiences and knowledge she will gain at Harding.

Signing day for Allie went just as she had hoped and she was surrounded by her close friends, family, and coaches.  The event is short but a great time for people who have been there throughout Allie’s basketball years to celebrate how her success has paid off.  There have been many influential people that have guided Allie throughout her basketball career so far, and she says she would not have gotten this far without them.  “My AAU coaches, Heather and Andi have been my biggest supporters and have helped shape me into the player I am today.  They showed me what a real coach is supposed to be like and I cannot thank them enough for everything they have done,” Allie states.  Allie is hoping for a great next four years at Harding and she hopes to make relationships and memories that will last a life time.
