CAFETERIA CHARGES: According to our district charging policy, students can charge “any reimbursable meal” (including Main Line, Meal Deal, Salad Bar/Chef Salad) the first two weeks of school while free/reduced meal applications are being processed. The $10 cut off (along with no charging of Meal Deals) will kick in on Monday, August 28.
PSAT: Any junior wanting to sign up for the PSAT in October needs to sign up in the guidance center. The test costs $16. You must have the money when you come to sign up in the guidance center. The deadline to sign up is Friday, September 8th.

STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS: Due to several logistical issues, the deadline to turn in a petition for Student Council class president, vice president, secretary, or representative has been extended until Friday at 3:30. 9th graders can sign up and get a petition from their English teacher. 10-12th graders can see Mrs. Jones in room 320. Campaign materials may be posted as soon as the petition is returned and approved. Voting will be in the English classes on Friday, September 1. Campaign materials will need to be taken down and disposed of by Monday, Sept.4th.
SENIOR ADS: Extra senior recognition ads are located in the offices. They are due October 1.
CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS:
KEY CLUB: The past members of the Key Club will meet in the cafeteria Tuesday, Sept. 5th, the day after Labor Day at 7:35. We will introduce the new officers and vote for the Key Club Sweetheart. In the meantime, you can drop by Mr. Snow’s classroom 112 and pay you $15 dues and nominate a girl for Homecoming Sweetheart. The Sweetheart must be a senior girl. We will then vote at the meeting from the list of nominees. If you want to join Key Club for the first time please come by and pickup a Key Club application form from Mr. Snow.
BETA CLUB: Beta Club dues are $15 and are due by Friday, September 1st. See Mrs. White or Mrs. Holman if you have questions. Our first meeting will be on September 20th.
FTA: Students in all grades may sign up for FTA in Mrs. Cook’s room starting Monday, August 21. Dues are $5.00. Information regarding club activities will also be available.
FCCLA: FCCLA is starting the collection of dues. The dues are $12.00 and can be paid to Ms. Johnston in the FACS room 104.
SPANISH CLUB: Any student interested in joining Spanish Club, must see Miss Haynes before September 6 to pay dues and vote for Sweetheart and officers. Only paid members will be allowed to vote.
CHESS CLUB: The first Chess Club practice will be Tuesday, August 29 from 3:05-4 pm in Room 324. If you have any questions please contact Miss Haynes. Students of all playing abilities are welcome to join.
FBLA: Students who have taken a business class or are currently taking a business class that wish to join FBLA may begin paying dues starting Monday, August 28. Dues are $15 and paid members may vote for Homecoming sweetheart. See Mrs. Akridge in room 206. Our first meeting will be Wednesday, September 6 at 7:35 in room 206.
FISHING CLUB: There will be a fishing meeting September 6 for new and returning members in Mrs. Jones’ Room 320 at 3:30pm. If you have any questions please email Coach Rony Jones (rjones@searcyschools.org).
