Big Signing Day For SHS Football

Searcy, Ark., (LP) — Being a senior, and the quarterback of your home football team comes with a lot of fame. Mason Shucker resident of Searcy, has played football since the fifth grade. Playing for searcy for two years, he’s enjoyed every last bit of it. Being his senior year, he decided to sign his future over to Hutchinson Community College, in Hutchinson, Kansas.

Continuing his football career for Hutchinson Mason states, “I’m going the Jouko route to ball out for one or two years and to hopefully pick up a D1 offer.” Going to Hutchinson gives Mason a lot of extra playing time on the field. Mason states, “I’m most excited about ballin out my freshman year and just to see what the future brings.” Hutchinson Community College is the top Jouko in the nation, they have a lot of history putting out great D1 athletes. Mason hopes to be one of these athletes in the next two years and to live up to the potential that he knows he has. Mason states, “The recruiting process was pretty stressful but choosing this college was pretty easy after I decided I wanted to go the jouko route.” During mason’s two years at Searcy High School, he’s thrown 6,011 total yards including 62 total touchdowns. Coach Kelly, Coach of Searcy High School’s football team states, “We are extremely excited for his future, he is an amazing athlete and an amazing football player. One of the most gifted individuals I’ve ever seen.” Through the past couple of years mason has done nothing but continue to mature and get better academically and athletically. Coach Kelly stated, “We appreciate Mason, and we are very proud of him and how far he has came. We are very excited for his next chapter.” As Mason starts this new chapter in his life, his football team and family has made it very clear that they will stand behind him no matter what.

Not only was Mason signing, but also Catrell Green and Jacob Barker. Catrell Green signed with Independence Community college, Kansas. Jacob Barker signed with Ouachita Baptist, In Arkadelphia. As these talented athletes start their new journey coach Kelly helps them take what they have learned and use it for the real world. Including football techniques and real world advice. No matter what, Searcy, Arkansas will always be home for these three men.
