Lionsteppers Dance Fitness Class:  The Lionsteppers will be hosting a dance fitness class for four weeks on Tuesdays from 6-7 p.m. in the SHS annex  2/20-3/13. The cost is $5 per class; attend one or all. No registration is needed. High school students, teachers and staff from all campuses and families are all welcome to come( ladies only).  This is meant to be fun so no previous dance experience, skill or rhythm is required. The proceeds will help us pay for summer camp and possible technique clinics. Please email asimpson@searcyschools.org for any questions.

 

CLINICAL INTERNSHIP11th grade students interested in applying for Clinical Internship their senior year can pick up applications in the Guidance Center.  Completed applications are due in the Guidance Center by March 16.  

 

YEARBOOKS: Your LAST chance to preorder a yearbook will be the week of February 12-16.  You may still order online, but you may also pay Mrs. Shannon Holeyfield at school (before school, at lunch, between classes, or after school).  Books purchased at school are $50. Cash (EXACT change) or checks are accepted. 

 

SERVICE ACADEMY INFORMATIONAL MEETING: Central High School in Little Rock will be hosting a Service Academy informational meeting on February 21st in their library from 6:30pm to 8:15pm for any student interested in attending The United States Military Academy at West Point, the United States Air force Academy in Colorado Spring, or the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis. BOYS AND GIRLS STATE: Any current junior boy or girl who wants to attend Boys or Girls State should stop by the guidance center and sign up for more information. The deadline to sign up is Feb. 28.   Boys State is held on the campus of the University of Central Arkansas in Conway while Girls State is held on Harding University’s campus here in Searcy.  Both camps are a week long and teach students how government is run on the local and state levels through simulations of real scenarios.  The dates for the camps are May 27th thru June 1st.  Interested students should exhibit outstanding leadership, character, scholarship, loyalty, and service to the school and community and have an interest in learning how local and state governments are run.

NHS MEETING: will be Feb 20th at 7:35 in Mrs. Rose’s room.  We have a lot of information to discuss since we didn’t have our January meeting.  Be on time.
