Fair workers keep the show going

While some of the workers are new to the fair scene, many workers have been in the business for years.

“This is my second night up here, and I worked it in Batesville,” said fair worker Linda Renfrow.

“I’ve been with the carnival for about eight years part time now,” explained fair worker Ben Stewart.

One benefit of being a fair worker, is that they get to travel all over the country side.

“This year in Arkansas, we have Searcy, Batesville, South Haven. Along with Mississippi, St. Louis, right outside the stadium and west to Grove; pretty much Missouri, Arkansas, and Mississippi, ” Stewart said.

Each fair worker has a different job.

“This is the duckĀ game. Every duck has a number on the bottom, it is two dollars for one duck, you pick it up, and you get a prize every time,” Renfrow explained.

“Well come to this game right here. This is where we give the big ones away. They call me Santa Clause,” Stewart said.

The fair ends this Sunday, so be sure and stop by, and see some of these hard workers.
