A huge crowd came out to Lion Stadium for Fields of Faith.
They ate food, listened to music, and came out for fellowship.
Senior Mickey DeMarzo participated in the event by giving his testimony.
“I felt like God was telling me that it was my turn to give it,” said DeMarzo. “It was mainly because of God. He told me to.”
“As long as I can get one person to come to Christ, I think my testimony did good,” said Demarzo.
People who attended this event were moved by the students testimonies.
“I was really overwhelmed by it. It was kind of saddening to hear their stories, but it was neat to hear how they overcame struggles with God,” said sophomore Phillip Porter.
“My take away for tonight is seeing that there are a lot of students in this community who love Jesus. When you think that there’s not, you come to Fields of Faith like this and you see that it’s not a dying cause; that it’s more alive than it has ever been,” said local youth pastor Drew Brassfield. “It’s an amazing thing. I’m proud to be a Christian.”
Fields of Faith had a positive effect on the people who came to the event.
“I think it’s an incredible thing to see high school students stand up in front of all these people, their friends and their peers and say, ‘You know what, I love Jesus and I’m proud to be a Christian.’ I thought that was incredible,” said Brassfield.
This year’s Fields of Faith spread words of faith and brought the community together.
