Every year, the BETA club puts on a Halloween Fall Festival for the kids in the community.
“I helped with the face painting booth, because it is something simple that I am good at that lots of children enjoy,” said BETA Member and junior Jennings Johnson.
Johnson enjoyed working with the kids that attended.
“They are full of energy and it is always cute to watch them play,” Johnson said.
Johnson said her favorite part was listening to all of the unique ideas the kids wanted on their faces.
Many kids enjoyed having their faces painted and playing the games to earn the candy.
It was a great opportunity to have fun with the kids in the communtiy and also get points for school clubs as well.
BETA members signed up outside history teacher Katie Holman’s room for a booth or game to work. Members also brought candy to her room to have to hand out to the kids.
The BETA club sponsors are Trisha White and Katie Holman. Due to White’s recent addition to her family, Holman mainly organized the event herself.
BETA members collect points by participating in the after school activities, and all members that signed up and helped with a game or booth earned points.
The whole night was a great experience for the BETA members and the children who attended also.
The BETA club will be hosting more community wide activities to get the kids of Searcy involved.
