Orchestra hosts a dinner to raise money

For the first time, the Orchestra held an event to showcase their talent to the community while the audience ate their dinner.

“There was a fundraiser to help get money for the Orchestra program to get new instruments, music, and other stuff that we need,” sophomore Orchestra member Nichole Cook said.

Though they performed very well, it was much more than a concert.

“You could eat dinner, or they could just watch what was going on. There was a silent auction going on that people could just go around and see what there was to bid on for whatever they wanted,” sophomore Mary Beth Barden stated.

Overall, the night was a huge success and they raised a substantial amount of money.

“It was a really great success. We raised at least over 4,000 and we are still counting it,” said sophomore Hannah Conner.

Orchestra students feel like the night went very well.

“It was really relaxed and it was a lot of fun,” said Barden.

“We performed for awhile as a group, and it was good,” said Cook.

There was a great turn out this year so be sure to come out next year.
