The freshman cheerleaders are working hard to improve and perform to the best of their ability.

With the leadership of the squad captains Mason and Taylor the squad hopes to finish out the year successfully.

“It’s very rewarding and you definitely see your hard work pay off,” said freshman Mason Murphy

“It’s a lot of responsibility, but at the same time it is very rewarding,” said freshman Taylor Eves. “You can see all the hard work you put into it has come out and you can make something work; It’s really fun.”

The members of the cheerleading squad are all close friends.

“I think it’s a really great squad and I think it’s a great group of girls. We all have to have top grades and academics; We’re just really close,”said freshman Lexi Harilson.

“We have done really good this year and I just love them all,” said freshman Skyler Albright.

“I believe that we have really improved and as a whole we are all friends and we get along great,” said Murphy.

“We all have become really close this year and were practically all family; I love them all,” told Eves.Screen Shot 2013-02-28 at 2.28.26 PM

The ninth grade squad is working hard to get to the varsity level.

“This years squad, their working very hard; they are half way through the season. They have improved quite a bit with their jumps, tumbling, cheering, and dancing,” said Coach Tyler Choate.

There are differences between ninth grade and varsity cheerleading.

“The difference between the ninth grade and he varsity squad is the varsity squad is much more difficult. They have a lot more mechanics involved in there stunting and their dancing. The ninth grade squad just has to work up to get to that level,” said Choate.

We’re proud of the ninth grade cheerleaders and they will be trying out for varsity cheerleading on April 5.
