If you haven’t attended recent basketball games, sophomore James Wade has been out due to injury.

“It’s definitely impacted us; he plays point guard and any time someone goes down, other guys have to come in and pick up the slack,” said assistant coach Bryant Turney. “It’s made some of our guys move around spots, a little bit, rotate, and play some more guys off the bench; kind of put some guys in spots they are not supposed to be in.”

“I think it’s affecting my team a great deal when we lose a man,” said Wade. “They’re not playing too hot right now, either,”

“It was devastating,” said sophomore Shaq Glass. “He is one of our best players on the team and every one was upset that he couldn’t play.”

Wade over-plated his pelvis and has two cracked bones in his back.

“I think I will come back a bit sluggish, but I think I will be fine once I get in one or two games,” he stated.

“I think he will come back just fine from it. It’s just one of those injuries that just takes a little while to get over. He’s got to go through rehab, and get stronger; we’ve got to make sure he’s ready to come back, before he comes back,” said Turney. “I think once he gets rehab and gets his strength back, he will come back just fine. I don’t worry at all about it.”

Wade is anxious to recover so he can get back on the court and help his team win.

“I hate losing, watching my team lose; I just want to be out there playing with them,” he said.
