“I’m still learning, so yes, it is hard, but I have a good trainer who has been here since the ninth grade(senior Bradley Taylor) and we learn a little bit together every day,” Nichols said. “And the ladies and men that they had come in to train me have done a wonderful job and have been very patient, so I think I’m doing okay.”

Senior Bradley Taylor feels that auditorium managers have been a big influence on his life.

“When I came into the high school I became friends with, at the time, auditorium manager, Christina Chance,” Taylor said. “She showed me around a little bit and I just took what I learned with her and applied it here.”Screen Shot 2013-03-06 at 2.25.18 PM

Nichols said there is a lot of preparation before each performance.

“For any event we have to figure out what lights we will need in order to develop a lighting plan, ” she said.  “We need to decide if we need a backdrop, if we need the curtains pulled, if we need to close off part of the stage and what sound equipment we are going to need as far as microphones and speakers. And all the things that have to be done beforehand.”

There are many functions going on in the auditorium almost every week, keeping Nichols busy.
