The 2012-2013 yearbooks were passed out recently and students have many thoughts about what the theme, A Lion’s Reflection, meant to them and how they will remember it.
“I really enjoyed the sport pictures,” said Freshman Elizabeth Lopez. “It showed how much we did, how much we enjoy it, and what we do.”
School pictures are a vital part of the yearbook and most of the time they don’t go as well as some planned.
From messed up hair to food in teeth, most people have experienced yearbook pictures mishaps.
“I have marching band first period, so my hair got very messed up. It wasn’t that great, but it wasn’t the end of the world,” said Lopez.
The yearbook can mean different things to different people. For some, it’s holding onto memories or it’s simply laughing over funny yearbook pictures or signings.
“For me, it’s having and preserving memories and thoughts of the time,” said Lopez.
Yearbooks can be great memory keepers. Later in life, students can look back at their yearbooks to laugh and smile about their high school memories.
“I want to read them one day many years from now and just reminisce. It’s defiantly one of my favorite things about the yearbook,” expressed Lopez.
Yearbooks are a big part of high school. They are what help students remember their individual experiences of high school and how others felt about theirs.
“I like the pictures; it’s funny and I like the stories,” said Rambo.
Be sure, next year, to grab your yearbook, get it signed, and make memories.
