Last Thursday something big happened for both the junior and senior class. This was the last day for the class of 2013, and you can expect that both classes had mixed emotions.
“I am thrilled, not just because I dislike all of them but, I’m ready to be a senior, I’m ready for our time,” junior Tyler Parker said.
Seniors will always remember parts of their time here whether it be time with friends or classes.
“It is really hard to pick one class, but if I had to pick my favorite it would have to be eleventh grade English,” senior Preston Clark said.
“I guess my favorite would probably be Doc Watson, I mean comparing other teachers to him is like looking at a horse and comparing it to a unicorn; its just legendary,” senior Colton Williams explained.
With such a big change juniors may need some advice for becoming seniors next year.
“Set a good example for those that are underneath you coming up and secondly do not let senioritis get the best of you. Do not think that school is out; we are still required to record grades until the very end and if you quit then you’re grades will suffer, so give it all that you’ve got until the very end,” said algebra teacher Sandy Webb.
“Advice that I can give is stay and be optimistic,” Clark said.
As seniors move on to a new life, one junior has some parting words for the class of 2013.
“One last thing is that I would like to wish all the seniors graduating, good luck, good luck in whatever you do, whether you’re going to college, or straight to work, I wish you all the best,” Parker stated.
The class of 2014 will soon be taking its reign at Searcy High.
