“We just want to be very competitive every Friday night, and we’re going to work incredibly hard during the week and compete as hard as we can,” said Poole.

Although the players are prepared and ready for action, they are still getting to know their new coaching staff.

A very optimistic K.J. Williams claimed, “They are a little bit more intense than most of the coaches we had last year; they make our blood pump.”

The new staff has high expectations for this upcoming football season. According to offensive coordinator, Mark Kelley, the key to success is to score a lot of points and win a lot of games.Screen Shot 2013-09-17 at 2.42.31 PM

This new coaching staff has transitioned into the community quite well. Tyler Dorton is not having a problem transitioning to Searcy considering the Lions use a lot of the same tactics as his previous school in Newport.

“The similar styles of coaching have really blended well, so the transition hasn’t been very hard especially because of the great work ethic of the kids. It has been fantastic,” said Dorton.

The new coaching staff are pushing the players hard and are expecting outstanding results.
