The brand-new fieldhouse constructed throughout last year is now being put to good use.

An indoor facility for the athletic department was built to provide a space for athletes to train due to inclement weather, for locker areas, and offices spaces for the new coaches.

“The fieldhouse has lots of space for each group, individual to practice each station,” stated senior Matt Duncan.


Many sports teams make use of it for conditioning at the end of the day and they find it very convenient.


“The facility can be used by a wide variety of activities that are school-related groups,” said Principal Claude Smith. “Our coaches love the facility and are thankful for it.”

The building is equipped with a state-of-the-art weight facility for the players to utilize.

“The football team loves it. It’s good to see the school supports us,” said Duncan.



The fieldhouse has a 50-yard practice field inside as well as a state-of-the-art weight room.

The building is quite spacious, which allows for multiple groups to use it at any one time. The fieldhouse was finished over the summer after a school year of construction.

This will be the first year the southside of the high school’s campus has been without the noise of building in quite a while.


“It was very annoying. It made my brain ache,” said senior Cory Wright.


The athletics department will surely make use of its newest facility for many years to come, meaning that the only noise related to it for the foreseeable will be the quality practice of our school’s many athletes.
