A five dollar admission paid for food and other activities at the event.

“We have corporate sponsors who give us larger amounts of money and then people can buy their Lionbacker passes which gives them admission into every athletic event throughout the year” said Angie Stevens.
The tickets are cheaper when buying a Lionbacker pass verses buying a ticket at every game. The Drama department helped and pitched in a pie throwing booth for teachers and students to help raise money for Searcy.

Teachers and students volunteered to be a participate in the pie throwing booth.

“It brought in a lot of kids, and a lot of kids wanted to pie each other” said Kara Treadwell.

The department raised 220 dollars which was more than expected by a pie throwing booth.

The Searcy High School marching lion band had a large part in Lionfest this year.

“The band moms will give up their time and volunteer to work in the concession stand” said Kristen Meeker.

The money that is raised in the concession stand goes towards instruments and other equipment for the band.

Lionfest has had a huge impact on Searcy High School in the past years.

“Last year, we spent about fifteen thousand dollars on letter jackets and blankets, and then outside of that we spent around thirteen or fourteen thousand on addition requests from the teams” said Stevens.

The 2013 Lionfest was a great success and the money that was raised will be used to help the athletes in the upcoming year.
