With the season well started, the boys basketball team have left an impression on the season winning most of their games. It isn’t the winning that matters to the players, it’s how hard they play as a team. Being on this team has made the guys grow close and become friends which helps the boys accomplish their goals together.
“My favorite thing about this season is being on the court with friends,” said sophomore Andrew Neaville. “I also like playing my favorite sport.”
The coaches and boys think the season has allowed them to achieve everything they want and more. They believe that they have done this through long complex practices. They still have room to improve and plan to get better every day.
“Before the season starts, we do a lot of shooting, conditioning, and weight lifting,” said Coach Bryan Turney.
The coaches expect so much out of their team players.
“I want them to try their best out their court and play their best during the conference season,” said Turney. “We know the guys will since they always try their hardest.
The student body has been supportive by coming out and cheering them on during their games. The games get intense and draws the crowd out.
“I expect the team to do very well,” said sophomore Kayla Ashenberger. “I think we can win state because we have some amazing athletes on the team, and they did a lot better than I had expected.”
The season started in November and the practice every day just to get a little better. They do extensive workouts and practice drills to run during the game.
“The season has been going pretty well, but we still get better every day,” said Neaville.
Even before the season started, the team started working out to prepare to be their best for the season. They did a complicated mixture of different workouts to keep their bodies in top condition with a combination of shooting and drills.
“Before the season starts, we do a lot of shooting, conditioning, and weight lifting,” said Turney.
The boys will keep up their hard work and hopefully accomplishment more at the state playoffs this season.
