Some people hate the snow or at least have seen it in their lifetime. However, I have had many “new” adventures this year and one, includes seeing snow for the first time.
On Friday, Dec. 6, I woke up to a beautiful sight-my entire yard covered with snow and ice. That day was one full of many firsts. Like first snow angel, snowman, first time sledding and seeing it all. My parents woke my twin and I up that morning and I looked out my bedroom window to sleet and snow.
I got dressed fast and headed out. Then I fell with my first step onto the snow. I was wearing my tennis shoes that had little traction so later i got rain boots that helped to keep me from falling. We played in it for a little while and since there is this steep and icy road by my house that only has two houses up it, we decided to go sledding.
Sledding was so much more fun than I thought it would be. At first, we used a box with our dogs pulling it. Then, we decided to use an air mattress. Sledding was so much more fun than I thought it would be.
Then, we went up farther north to Batesville, Ark. to get into real snow. The snow was so fluffy that when we threw it, the snow disintegrated. The fun continued all weekend and when school was canceled for two more days.
We eventually got real sleds to go sledding and I kept falling still not getting used to the ice in my front yard.
We walked our three dogs on it, who, was also not used to the snow but still loved it. My dog, Sammy, kept falling as well. Everyday we spent outside of that little break.
For my first snow, I had an amazing time. I loved spending the time with my family and experiencing something new with them. I discovered I love the snow and everything about it.
