Freshmen, seniors settle into high school routines

Screen Shot 2014-03-11 at 2.31.50 PMThe end of the first semester is different for everyone.

For the freshman, it’s their first time for them ever being in high school.

“Well, I’m still alive, so consider that a win,” said freshman Jase Woods. “Everything’s going well, but I mean I guess I was a little nervous coming in. Once you get here, you kind of see it’s not as bad as you think it is.”

Many seniors accomplished big events.

“It’s been pretty fun. I’ve had a lot of good memories so far with Suessical and choir, with making All Region,” senior Jordan McGrawth said about his senior year so far.

Coming into high school for the first time for many freshman can be overwhelming.

“Once you get past how different it is from everything else, you can actually start focusing on school and stuff more. It’s been really good,” Woods said.

For many seniors, this is not the end but rather new beginning.

“It’s not that emotional,” McGrawth said. “I mean I’m sure I’ll cry at choir banquet and graduation for choir, but at the actual graduation, I just want to go home and go to sleep.”

Woods has his own goals for the rest of the year and the next three years to come.

“I just want to make good grades and do good in sports, but mainly just have no regrets about what’s going on or anything. I feel like I’m doing what I’m supposed to be doing,” he said.

Hopefully going into the second semester, students will be more comfortable.
