As the year comes to an players are up ready to go. For baseball that is.

Many Students work day after day practicing and improving themselves, in order to leave an impression on, onlookers of the season.

“I practice every single day, even if it’s not with the team I’m always doing something that could improve my skills in any way possible,” Junior Jacob Sexton said.

Many of the players find reasons to keep on playing baseball.

“You see, I’ve been playing since I was a lot younger, so it’s become a part of me; I grew up playing sports,” Freshman Trevor Rayburn said.

Sports have been a huge contribution as well as time spent to become the best, in participating in another season.

“Tee ball, football, and other things too, it was just a yearly thing and even to this day I look forward to it every time,” Rayburn explained.

Deciding, and finding out where you belong on the team is one of the hardest parts.

“I knew it the first time that I played, that baseball was the right sport for me,” Rayburn said. “It was so simple and complex at the exact same time. I knew that when I signed up it was the right thing to do.”

Days among days are spent training.

“Whenever I practice, I practice for hours, I do it just about every day, really some free time is very much needed,” Sexton said.

Players leave yearly, and m any have different ways to cope with the change.

“When someone leaves that I am super close to, I get really sad, but I don’t let it get me down,” Junior Traike Elliot said. “I just practice harder, because knowing that, this is what they would want me to do makes it a hundred times better. It just takes some time getting used to it.”

Bonding is also a huge part of the sport.

“If you don’t make friends, or already have friends on the team, it makes it a lot harder to get anything done, everyone hates each other, nobody plays the game, and it’s just a huge mess,” Elliot said. “Because when one of us aren’t happy with the other then none of us are happy, so bonding helps a lot.”

Being united as a team is a main reason for such dedication.

“My teammates and I talk about everything, being a team means working together, and working together also means doing whatever is the best when it comes to pushing each other forward, and doing whatever we can to be better, because we are united,” Sexton said.

The year is only beginning for all of the players, so it’s a huge deal to make an impression early.

“I like to make people notice me, I like to be seen, it means a lot when a person comes up to me , to tell me what they thought I did best, and when they tell me what they think I could have done better, it just helps to make an impression,” Rayburn said.

The players are well and ready to get the season started.
