You do not need to drive to the mall to buy every new shoe that appears. Instead, it’s really creating your own versions of said trends, picking and choosing the ones you want to add to your arsenal, and figuring out how they work for you. One of the main things I have seen up and down the halls of Searcy is shoes. For girls the main style going around are Birkenstocks. Spring 2016 is off to a colorful start already. Birkenstocks are fresh and vibrant — perfect for our various changes of weather. There are so many different styles and patterns that you can choose from. The master minds behind the Birkenstock footwear brand have spent more than two centuries discovering the recipe for happy feet, and the key ingredient is cork. Over the years, Birkenstock sandals and shoes have been walked all over the world. These shoes actually mold to the shape and contours of a human food for total comfort. The more you walk, the better they will feel. Sophomore, Kathleen Formel, claims, “Floral  patterns are my absolute favorite to wear in the Spring/Summer time. They are a cute accent piece to any outfit.” There are so many shoes that are cute to look at, but you  know you will be struggling to walk home after a long day at school.  

Mia Stephens, a Senior at Searcy High, says, “ My absolute favorite are my yellow birkenstocks. I feel like I can wear them with anything, and my feet never hurt at the end of the day.” Overall these shoes are definitely major show stoppers. Once warmer weather starts to roll in, these cork shoes will be styled up and down the halls. Fashion is way to express your true self and feel confident with whatever you are wearing.
