Many organizations at SHS host tournaments on a yearly basis, however this isn’t the case for one in particular.

This years’ drama tournament happens to be one of the first at Searcy High School.

“There has not been a Drama Tournament at Searcy High School since the time I have been here,” said drama teacher Mandy Taylor.

A lot of work goes into preparing for the drama tournament.

“When your running a drama tournament you have to keep up with who goes from round to the next; you also have to keep up with who is judging the round, where your judges are, and you have to have time keepers,” said  Taylor

In order for drama to host a tournament several things are required including at least 10 schools participating.

A large turnout of students are expected to attend, around 500 students.

Hopefully after hosting the drama tournament this will open up many opportunities for the drama department.
