Searcy (LP) It is finally that time of the year. April has rolled around and prom season has arrived. The time the girls start hitting the tanning bed, and the time guys start hitting the gym. Everyone wants to look their best at their junior/senior Prom.
It is a moment that everyone talks about and a memory you will never forget.
Junior Brooke Fraser says, “Getting my hair done is my favorite thing to do. I also love getting pictures taken before prom, the whole process is so exciting.” You need to be able to plan out your day a couple of months before the actual Prom night. If you wait until last-minute, the whole situation will be so stressful. Make sure your appointments are booked and outfits are altered to perfection. Your friends will be a special part of your life forever, but there’s a 99 percent chance that any prom date you have will be forgotten within the next two years. If this is a special night, then bring the people who mean the most to you.
Even though prom tends to be a long process, it is very exciting. Prom is a special time that you will only get to experience normally twice during high school. For most of us, our high school careers are coming to an end. Prom will be one of the last times that everyone you have grown up with since elementary will be together. It does not matter if you have a date or not. As long as you have fun with your friends, the memories will last a lifetime. Senior Ashton Herkamp says “Getting ready with all my friends is the best part.” One of the best things about prom is that there are always surprises throughout the whole night. Last year, all the teachers did a flash mob dance to Bruno Mars. It was unbelievable. Senior Joel Martinez says, “I am going to play all the games at Prom to win the most expensive prize out there.” Who knows what the teachers of Searcy High have up their sleeves this year. It is very rare you will get to wear a pretty formal dress or a spiffy tuxedo. Take advantage of the wonderful opportunity life holds.
