Searcy (LP) This year at Searcy High School, the sports teams are scoring big! With both baseball and track, making it to state, and soccer following behind them to compete at state as well, Searcy holds true to their “Striving for Excellence” motto.
Who doesn’t like a good ol’ baseball joke? Here’s one: Why are some umpires fat? …Because they clean their plate. The searcy umpires had to clean a lot of home plates this season while Searcy boys swept up their 16-6 title. “I feel like this is one of the best seasons Searcy has ever had,” says junior Adrian Hannah. The team finished 6-3 against Sheridan in the state playoffs to conclude their season. They ended their season with a 16-6 record and a 10-4 record in conference! Searcy baseball has never let their fans down. Good job, boys!
Varsity soccer boys lost 2-1 to El Dorado in the state playoffs to end their season. They finished their season with a nine and nine record and four and six in conference.
Lady Lions Soccer team lost to Russellville two and one in a close game to end the run for State Championship. The girls ended the season with a ten and twelve record. They concluded their season with a five and nine record in conference. Searcy Soccer played their hearts out and left it all out on the field. We are extremely proud to have such amazing group of kids representing our school.
Congratulations to members of the track team, as well. The track team has always positively impacted the Searcy School district. Track team member Whitney Davis, a Searcy High school freshman, placed fourth in the 100 meter at the Meet of Champions! To add to that outstanding accomplishment, Searcy High School senior, Dmariyae Banks, gained a full ride track scholarship to the University of Missouri. Track futures are bright in Searcy!
