The story Peter Pan which was alternately titled “The Boy Who Would Not grow Up,”  was written by J.M. Barrie in 1911 and was first performed in London, England, on December 27, 1904, at the Duke of York Theatre. It has since become one of the most widely performed and adapted children’s stories in the world. “I chose Peter Pan because it is such a famous story. It has a lot of well-known characters in this story, like Wendy, Captain Jas. Hook, Tinker Bell, Mrs. Darling and so on.” Mrs. Taylor said, the teacher of the drama class. The money to get costumes, makeups, stage properties are sponsored by Drama Tournament, the donation from Business in Community and the money of tickets from each play. There are 34 characters in total in this drama; Peter Pan is acted by Eden Ballow and Wendy is acted by Jamie Hall. They all passed the audition for this play at the beginning of the school and they best displayed their characters. Each character has their own characteristic. “ I have prepared for this character for 4 months and I think Wendy is a very kind and gentle girl. She is like a mother when she is looking after the children.” said Jamie Hall, the actress of Wendy Darling. “While I was rehearsing, I found that it was hard to express her anger, like yelling, because she is such a gentle girl.”  The most wonderful scene of this drama is the fight between Peter Pan and Captain Hook. “It is a very funny part of the story. The action part is very attractive and interesting. This scene is also my favorite part of Peter Pan.” said Mrs. Taylor. There are some difficulties during Peter Pan’s rehearsal. It is hard for the teacher to restore every scene of the play. Mrs.Taylor said “I think the hardest part for Peter Pan is flying. It is dangerous and hard to act in the sky.” Every actor and actress have worked so hard for this drama and they are all expecting to show you their wonderful play.
