BASEBALL CARWASH: The baseball team is having a Car Wash for fundraiser. It will be this Saturday from 10:00 – 2:00, @ Ace Hardware on Beebe – Capps.
ANATOMY LAB: There will be an Anatomy lab April 24 in the PAC. This is available to anyone who has a science class. Get your consent forms in ASAP.
SENIORS: You are encouraged to open your cap/gown unit and make sure it fits as soon as possible. If you have any questions or problems, contact Ms. Daves in the East office. If you need extra announcements we have a few in the East office, see Ms. Daves.
HONOR GRADUATES: Please come by the East office and see Ms. Daves for your honor stole that is to be worn at graduation.
ASU-BEEBE PREVIEW DAY: ASU-Beebe will be hosting ANOTHER College Preview Day on April 7, 2017! Sign up today at http://www.asub.edu/admissions/preview-day.
STUDENT BODY OFFICER ELECTIONS : Petitions are available now in Mrs. Jones’s room 320. This election is ONLY for overall student body officers: President, Vice President, Secretary, and Historian. The student body President must be a Senior in the 2017-18 school year. Petitions are due back on Friday, March 31st. Class Officers and Representatives will be chosen when we return to school in the fall.
GOLF TRYOUTS: Golf tryouts: Tryouts for the 2017 Lion and Lady Lion golf teams will be May 15th-17th at 3:30 at Searcy Country Club. Students must have a current physical to tryout. Free Physicals at school are on March 31st. Students can sign up and pick up an information sheet and physical form in Coach Turney’s room (117). There will be a MANDATORY meeting for all students trying out on Wednesday, May 10th at 3:15 in Coach Turney’s room. You MUST sign up, have a physical, return the information sheet, and attend the meeting in order to tryout.
BASKETBALL TRYOUTS: Tryouts for the 2017-2018 SHS Sr. Boys’ basketball team for all spring sport athletes will be on May 18th-19th at 3:15 in the Main gym. Any student who wishes to tryout must sign up with Coach White and have a current physical. For more information see Coach White or Coach Turney.
IMMUNIZATIONS: Once you have turned 16 years old, a 2nd MCV4 (meningitis) shot will be required. Please bring an updated shot record to the nurse as soon as you receive this shot.
C*A*M*P*: Applications for C*A*M*P (formally known as M*A*S*H) are now available in the Guidance Center. They are due April 21st and need to be returned to the hospital. Students entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade this upcoming 2017-18 school year and have a 2.5 GPA may apply. More information is available on the cover sheet of the application.
ANNUAL NURSING EXPO: The 12th Annual Nursing Expo will be held on April 1, 9:00 AM-3 PM at the Jack Stephens event center on the UALR campus in Little Rock. It will be a great resource to explore the opportunities that nursing has to offer. Schools and recruiters will be available to answer questions individuals may have and what they need to do to prepare for a career in nursing.
SCHOLARSHIPS:
KIWANIS SCHOLARSHIP application is now posted.
UNITY HEALTH SCHOLARSHIP applications are to be turned in at the hospital. We do NOT collect those in the Guidance Center. Pay close attention to details and instructions on ALL scholarships.
ENGINEERING SCHOLARSHIP: The Arkansas Society of Professional Engineers, Central Chapter is now accepting applications for their annual scholarship. They award two $1000 scholarships each year to graduating seniors from Central Arkansas that intend to earn a degree in engineering from an accredited university. Other qualifications are as stated on the application. Interested students can pick up an application in the Guidance Center.

CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS:
FCCLA: members stop by FACS room on Wednesday 29th to pick up keychain fundraiser packets. Before school, between classes, or after school please.
BETA CLUB: Students who received an invitation to join Beta Club–the deadline to pay dues is this Friday, March 31st.
