Searcy (LP) Over forty different toppings and combinations of frozen yogurt and ice cream makes Chillz a very enjoyable place to visit. The owners, Dorothy and Jeff Tinsley,  strive to make their frozen yogurt/ice cream shop the best by offering free samples to the customers that can’t decide what to get, keeping Chillz a clean place, and making friends with the 200-300 customers that come a day. As Dorothy Tinsley states, “My favorite part about working at Chillz is seeing the customers come in. I have met some really great people.”

Chillz is located at 2209 W.Beebe Capps. This is a very good spot to open a new business, because more people live on the west side of Searcy. New people come to Chillz each day. Students from SHS, customers from the businesses  surrounding Chillz, even people from the other side of Searcy come to try this new frozen yogurt/soft serve ice cream shop. A group of friends will sit in Chillz for hours,visiting with each other and enjoying their frozen desserts. Chillz is the best hang out place. Jeff Tinsley states “We have an inviting place where people want to hang out. If the customers are going to be here hours, that means they feel like it’s their living room. It’s that comfortable.”

There are six main flavors of frozen yogurt: including no sugar added Tahitian vanilla, non-fat orange sorbet, low fat white chocolate mousse, low fat triple chocolate, low fat strawberry sensations, and low fat cookies and cream. The soft serve ice cream flavors are yellow cake batter and chocolate chip cookie dough with a twist flavor  of chocolate chip cookie cake.

The owners of Chillz are making the decision of adding another machine that would have the newest flavors and seasonal flavors. Dorothy Tinsley states “We would definitely want to do some seasonal flavors. We want to try some of the more requested options, such as cheesecake, peanut butter, espresso, and salted caramel.”
