Searcy High School Seniors Tell All

Searcy, Ark., (LP) — For the seniors, high school is almost over and almost all of them are ready to get out of here. Although they’re ready, they are also going to miss all the precious memories made throughout the four years. These last few days of high school are opening the eyes of many and the seniors are realizing how much they will actually miss high school.

Senior year is about making memories and being surrounded by the people you love. Senior Mason Shucker has made numerous memories and cherish them. “I don’t know how to feel about leaving high school, I’m sad but I’m also excited to start a new chapter in my life. Mason moved to Searcy his Junior year to play football. He has made a lot of new friends. “I usually tell Juniors to enjoy their high school life and to have fun and not date anyone. It’s important to be able to look back at your high school life and not have any regrets, I know I won’t,” said Mason.

There are plenty of things to miss about high school such as: friends, close teachers, and the minimum amount of homework compared to college. “My advice to Juniors is to stay focused on your work. Students need to realize that grades are important and they will sneak up on you your senior year,” stated Rainey Joyner. Rainey has enjoyed his high school life and will miss it, but he’s ready for college. “I learned that being the most popular or the prettiest isn’t important. After high school, it won’t matter,” stated Rainey. His high school life was a blast and he’ll forever cherish those memories.

High School is full of positive and negative moments and people. You’re supposed to grow as a person and set all of your values. The biggest thing about being a senior is realizing how far you have come from freshmen year. The Searcy High School Seniors Class of 2018 will always hold a special place. They will be recognized at graduation on May 11 at 7 P.M. Be sure to congratulate all of the seniors for this year.
