Searcy, Ark., (LP) — April 27th, 2018 was the last day for Searcy High School seniors. On that day, all the seniors lined up and went and walked the elementary schools of Searcy, Arkansas. This is the first time Searcy School District has done this very special moment for the seniors on there last day including the younger kids seeing just what to keep looking forward to. Walking through the elementary schools and clapping hands with the little kids as they smile and see just what makes all the hard work really worth it. This day was not only great for the seniors to see their old teachers see how far they’ve came but also having the younger generation work harder and know that dreams do come true, and graduating is just another step apart of your journey. Laken Randolph senior of Searcy High states,“To see all the signs that the younger kids made for us seniors and my old teachers crying just shows me that all the hard work and late nights were truly worth it.”
Being a senior although is very challenging. Worrying about all the credit hours, and homework due the last few days before you’re finally out in the real world can be hard. Working through the hard work and pushing yourself to your limits is the only way you will achieve your goals in the long run. “I cannot wait for senior year.” For years, this is all we’ve all been saying to, and hearing from, our classmates. Now that senior year is underway, know that it will fly by very fast. In the blink of an eye, the excitement of beginning a new school year, college applications, and finals have passed. Poof! And then you’re already done. Everything you have ever done in your life has lead up to these final few months as you transition from a teenager into an adult.
Claire Holden alumni of Searcy High states, “Always cherish every moment you have with everyone because after senior year that will be the last time you will be with everyone at once.” Holding onto every memory left of highschool is very important to most seniors.
Gabe Chapmen also a senior at Searcy High says, “Seeing the kids at each elementary school being so happy just to get to see us walk through the halls was the light of my day. Knowing im setting a great example to the younger kids is a huge accomplishment that I greatly cherish.”
