SEARCY , Ar. (LP) – A long term effect has finally became notice. Students and teachers at SHS have noticed the on going detraction at the school and it starts with our lunch lines. We have 1,166 students in this building and only three lines. We have a big problem and many ways we could change it. Lots of people may not catch this as a issue because it doesn’t effect people beside people in the jungle lane hall way. Mrs. Carpenter stated, “My classroom is the closet to the line so I get all the noise and I see all the people cutting in line. I can’t get through the line to go to lunch myself and my 5th period students have trouble getting past the line.” Many other students also feel the line is a cluttered mess and needs fixed. Senior Lacee Delk stated, “The lines are way to long and give us less time to eat.” She also believes, “They probably thought it would make it faster but it didn’t we have way to many kids in the school to have 3 lines. I feel like we should agree on a way to make a safer and less hectic lunch line for our school. Maybe we should have three lunches? Or maybe have change the way the lines are set up. Senior Joshua Neuhaus said, “I would be very pleased about it. Alot of changes need to be done.”

He also said, “It’s very unorganized. People aren’t focused on the task at hand which is to grab your lunch and go.” Lacee Delk believes, “we should have a patention and show it to the principles.” Many different ways to change this the East classes are all coming together making projects of ways to change this and make everyone happy. They have all created different outlines and presentations for this project to show this may be a concern. Mrs Carpenter stated, “I think the lines should stay in the cafeteria hall. I also think since the al a carte line is used by 60% of the students, it should have more room.”

In  East students thought of switching the salad bar line with the main line since half the students either go to al a carte or main. It makes sense to move the two bigger lines on the outer sides. Mrs Carpenter said, “I would be very happy to get the noise and congestion out of ‘my’ hall.” Students really hope the projects that the students at SHS are a successful project and we get to make this a new change.
