Out with the old, in with the new. Classic game systems being thrown out

Racks of games at GameStop.

SEARCY, AR (LP)— The classic game systems like NES or the original Nintendo are being thrown out or restore with new parts. People take the old systems for granted and think the new ones are king of the systems. One such store has done this a lot and stopped selling them. GameStop has done this quite a bit and does not seem to stop. A GameStop employee who wished to remain anonymous gave some insight on the subject. The employee said, “The reason we don’t sell the old systems anymore is because there are not enough of them.” There is such a limited supply of the old systems that GameStop does not have enough to sell. The employee also said, “If the choice was mine, I would start selling them again to bring in more customers so they get what they want and they leave happy.” As a fun fact you can get a refurbished original Nintendo or NES with the games already downloaded on the console at GameStop for only $60.

A Searcy School student Spencer Green also gave an insight to the topic. He said, “I think that GameStop has not lost any money by not selling the old systems, but their customers are leaving unhappy that they cannot get their classics to enjoy.” The customers are actually leaving unhappy that the classics are not being sold at GameStop, instead the classics are being refurbished and not being left the way they were built. Spencer also said, “I believe that GameStop should have a special sale on the refurbished classics for those who are trying to find them with a good deal.” The classics systems are not getting the respect they deserve since the original Nintendo and the NES are the progenitors for the newer models of the gaming systems.

The original Nintendo was the very first gaming console that started the trend of the newer gaming consoles. then came the NES system, it was a little more advanced then the Original Nintendo but still played the original Nintendos games. then the systems started falling down the line of the gaming family tree but, paused with the production for 3 years when Xbox and Playstation started developing their own version of the consoles and Nintendo was furious and asked for a fee for redesigning their consoles. And now here we are with the new models at the bottom of the gaming family tree.
